Starting this thread for those who are curious about expected fuel economy on the 17 raptor. The wife and I both have 17 raptors so this is a great comparison tool as she will obviously have different driving habits than me. We are both sitting at around 2200 miles currently. She is averaging 16.9mpg for life of the vehicle. I am currently averaging 15.9mpg for life of the vehicle. I did reset the mpg meter at around 1000 miles and currently averaging 17.0mpg for last 1200 miles.(couldn't keep my foot out of it first 1k miles) The wife drives 90% in town driving with 50-60 mph roads and several stop lights.(no heavy stop and go traffic) She mostly drives normal but does like to drive aggressive on occasion. Half of my driving is same roads/conditions as hers, other half is interstate running 75-80 mph. My truck has seen the mph cutoff and lots of sport mode launches numerous times over that 2200 miles.(more so first 1k) When I'm not acting stupid I do drive like a grandpa. Neither of us actively try to get good fuel economy as fuel expense for us goes on my business account. These are honest/accurate results. Hopefully this is helpful information.
coupla things wrong with this- 1- your first post and you're talking about fuel mileage?? perma ban for that shit 2-BOTH you AND your wife have new Rap's and I haven't gotten mine yet.this is just wrong
Hahaha good point on the first post! Sorry just figured it was a good topic since I haven't really seen anyone talk about it. We honestly don't give a About fuel mileage just so impressed by how good the truck does on mpg. I'm more concerned about performance mods myself.
Im also curious how much the actual MPG when towing. Ive searched youtube and couldnt find it. Anyone have seen or actually experienced towing? One of the reasons why I want to move away from car...I want to tow at least 5K-9K lbs boat.
Max tow I believe is 8k on the raptor. As for mileage, I just drive 750 miles and got 15.3 avg. Tomorrow I will be towing a 5X8 uhaul trailer back, so I'll see what the difference is. Problem is I'll be going from 1800' to 6000' feet tomorrow. So have to account for that and the slower speed.
Currently 1100 miles on ours. Averaging 15.7 mpg in town and 18.5 highway. Better than I thought it would be honestly. As for the side by side Raptors... BRAVO! They look great and I can imagine you smile each time a neighbor walks by. =p
