    Starting a new thread:
Ford is offering as part of ownership a one day course free out in Salt Lake City (the old Miller Motorsports track) and it's called Raptor Assault:http: //www.raptorassault.com/en/

    This thread is for:
    Who's confirmed going
    What dates
Feedback on places to stay (not a lot near the track, SLC is close)
    Feedback on the course

Anyone planning meet ups (Moab or other areas)

    Thanks all!!!!!!

    Just some other info;
I've been out to the track once in 2013 when I helped crew one of the Lucas off road Pro-Lites for a weekend.
There's a Drag Strip, Go-Kart track, a large multi configuration road course and of course a off road track.
I think there was some other off-road stuff there too.
The track is out in Toole which is West of SLC.
There's a few hotels out there but i had stayed closer to SLC, wasn't a far drive.
There looks to be an add on day if you want to do the performance driving in the Mustangs out on the road course (I'm already trained and qualified for my USAC/IndyCar/F1 lic so i'm passing on this option). I don't know much about the school so do your homework first before buying a performance day.

As i'm coming from Dallas, i'll be cutting through Albq & Moab most likely so plan to have some fun along the way.

Last note: I'm working on a Baja trip in October (Ensenada to Cabo and then back out of MX) reach out direct is interested.

    Thanks all!!!!!

It is a cruise for me too, but i'll make a week off it and find some fun stuff along the way. Also there's plenty of friendly people here that i'm sure would point out stuff in their area to stop and have fun doing along the way...........

However, whatever works for you man.

Do they supply a truck or is it bring your own?

I assume their truck. That's what they do for the cars and they say you can fly in and out on that Web page.

I am actually doing the Raptor Assault next week. Also, confirming you use their trucks as I am flying in. I will report back afterwards, I'm looking forward to it!

Okay, so I did the whole Raptor Assault thing this week (Mon & Tues), just as you might have suspected me to say it was awesome! I guess you really cant complain either as its a free event and a mini vacation being out in Utah. Logistically speaking, everything was really easy, the hotel they recommend to stay at (Comfort Inn) was about 30 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport and the actual Ford Racing School was only another 15 minutes from the hotel with easy directions. The first day is only a welcoming reception at 5:30pm including a nice dinner and opportunity to talk to other Ford Performance enthusiasts, I say that because it wasn't just our Raptor class alone at this dinner, they were running 3 simultaneous programs on the same dates being the GT350 class, Focus RS class, and Raptor Assault class. Anyways, that was about it the first day, the next day started early with check in at 7:30am and was an action packed day from start to finish. You begin with an actual Ford Racing Instructor class room style for an hour, then get sized for your helmet and then off to your Raptor which you will share with one other "buddy" of choice. There were 14 Raptors in total for a 20 person class, so 10 Raptors were utilized by the class going in pairs and 4 were utilized by the instructors, all Raptors were the full 4 door models and all had the bead lock wheels, from there they all had various other packages but were all in great tip top condition. After getting paired, we immediately took off but didn't go far (just around the corner) to our first challenge which was on their property, it was a man made course for testing the vehicles capabilities mainly in rock crawling, going up and down steep grades, etc. Then we went around the other side of the building and they had a road/race course with cones setup for an offroad racing challenge which was pretty fun. We got to test out all the different drive modes and what each of them specifically do and when best to use each one. After this it was time to cruise to the desert but getting there was a mix of spirited highway driving in a convoy in "sport mode" then through the mountains in various modes where we also ate a full lunch and got to talk about everything and instructors were giving us heads up on what to expect in the desert part of the program which was the most challenging and the last part of the program. We came down the mountain side and ended up in the desert course where there was a race track like circle with challenging terrain and the real test of the Raptor was pressed to its max limits, all in Baja Mode. Sad to say no "jump" was involved, but all in all it was an awesome experience and well worth doing for anyone who owns one of these trucks. Before the program, I thought I knew what this truck was capable of doing by reading magazines and watching videos, but after experiencing the program first hand, I know for a fact what my truck is capable of doing and I'm a lot more comfortable with doing it now and not worrying about damaging an expensive truck otherwise. Also, as a bonus there was a professional photographer with us all day who took over 400 pics, put them all on a thumb drive and gave it to all of us at the end of the day free of charge, which was a really nice parting gift at the end and didn't do anything cheasy like try to sell you individual pics for $20. I will post some pics later, but all in all I highly recommend for anyone who owns this truck.
