Hey guys , So I’m thinking of buying a preowned 2017 Ford Raptor Super Crewcab but before I do , what are some things I should look at before buying it? Any advice will greatly appreciated
I would not do it. It has the plastic oil pan that has leak issues. Also, these engines have oil consumption issues, and cam phaser failures (cold start rattle). Avoid the ecoboost.
Yikes... They are most definitely not. Plastic oil pans. Rattling cam phasers. These 3.5 ecoboosts are just not reliable engines. The 2021 lineup announcement coming soon should make everyone happy since the engine will be (thankfully) different. They have to do something to keep up with the RAM TRX.
Oh and by all means share your insider information with the group so we may learn from you. And Ive got one of the first 2017's and have had zero issues.. Again Bravo troll please post pics of your raptor so we can all see you have first hand knowledge of the truck !!
The 3.5 HO is no longer offered for 21+. The Raptor will most likely get a 5L as that is the only logical offering from what showed in the engine lineup document. Logically, the TRX fighter will probably be a SC version of that.
That is mine from a job site. This picture was from when I brought it home for the first time. Traded fx4 ecoboost in as it had way too many problems.
