Hey there, newbie on this forum. I've had my Raptor since August 2018 and still love it!

You will want to get under it and see if you have the plastic oil pan or not. Ford switched halfway through the model year to a metal pan because the plastic ones were leaking so bad.
Also, be aware of the cam phaser failures. You know you have it when you cold start the truck and it sounds like marbles in a can. That means cam phasers are shot. The latest parts (CD) are still failing. Ford has yet another TSB coming in another attempt to fix. It's been a problem on this engine since 2010.

On the other site, someone took their truck in for the cam phasers, and the service department told him that Ford advised them there is another TSB coming. Evidently, the CD parts are still not fixing the problem.

So they reneged on the TSB and left it as a SSM which initially stated a TSB was forthcoming, but they updated the SSM stating to replace VCTs as needed (and determined through normal diagnosis) and to have customers continue to drive vehicle as the concern does not affect long term durability or performance.

I called BS and sent an engineer a message through internal means and they stated that the SSM holds true and concern will not damaged engine. So, hopefully, if that time comes and I need a new engine, this will back up my claim.

Ask your service department about yet another TSB coming. The guy on the other site was going to get the info. Ford is telling people to drive these since their warranty cost overrun was $5B!!! doesn't bode well for viability of a company. Volkswagen is taking a serious run at buying Ford.... Ford's financials are garbage right now and leadership is bleeding the company dry.

You can't argue any of it. Everything I have stated is legitimate, well known information. You can keep your head buried in the sand.

Wait for it. Ford has redesigned the parts twice since yours was built and it still has the same darn problem. I am not a troll. I am just here warning of the common ecoboost failure modes.
