Read all the remarks on this thread very informative. Made most of the more common changes. Having a little trouble with the heated and cooled seats icons on the climate page. When I go to the APIM module all I see is the descriptive words with enable/disable how do I get to the 7D0-01-01 line to make the change. Not quite ready to just start pushing buttons to try and make it happen. Any help will be appreciated. I’m in western North Carolina and would be glad to help others near by with the simple changes Td

    Hello All

I have read the entire thread (I am new to the forum, but not dense) and loved all the input. I am going to purchase one but what is the difference between the MX and MX+ and will the MX+ do everything that has been detailed in this post?

Like some of you mentioned, I am a bit chicken $hit about getting into the software portion of this, cuz quite frankly I am not strong in that area...I have rebuilt all sort of muscle cars, but kept it simple and not like this complex beast. I have the spreadsheet, will be backing up etc....but would love to connect with anyone who has done this and have a 1 to 1 convo regarding what steps were taken, best advice etc....

Thanks again for ALL the info and tips.

So I took the dive and removed/added/modified the following:
    Auto Start/Stop Disable
    DRL-Position Lamp Cfg
    DRL-Parking lights and low beams
    Auto fold mirrors-Lincoln Style
Heated/Cooled seat icons AND heated steering wheel on home and climate screen
    Secure idle enabled
Turn signal flashes set to 6
    Reverse tilt mirrors
    Global window open/close
    Disabled double honk
    auto relock enabled (45 seconds)
driver and passenger seatbelt minder disabled
    fake engine noise disabled
disabled the "doo-doo-doo" start up chimes

I am happy to say that I finished without any hiccups and as far as I can tell everything went off (or on)without a hitch....only because of the detailed info/descriptions/lists/tutorials you all posted or linked.

    Thank you all!!!!!!!!!

Auto Start Stop Disable - question about "optional" parameters to change

Just joined after spending a few days read the forums, here and on forscan. Not jsut forscan mods, just so much good information here!

Auto Start/Stop Disable - by disabling BMS (Battery Management System)
    BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xxxx
FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xxxx (optional - disables switch)
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xxxx (optional - disables stop/start message center in the trip/fuel IPC menu)

I have two questions I hope that someone can answer..

    1) If I don't disable the switch (FCIM), does that mean I can still enable the auto/start stop from the switch? If so, does the BCM change make "off" the default? But I could still toggle it on for this for this specific trip?

    2) I have not looked at the trip/fuel message center - so is there a message in there that the auto stop/start is disabled - and the IPC mod just makes that message not appear?

2020 Leadfoot Raptor - first truck, and love it!!!!

The BCM Change disables the BMS (Battery Management System). Because BMS is disabled, the A.S.S. (Auto Start/Stop) will NEVER engage regardless of whether the switch is on or off. With BMS disabled, the PCM doesn't know the actual condition of the battery and therefore tells the A.S.S. not to engage because the battery needs to charge.

With the BCM change, even turning the A.S.S. on with the switch the A.S.S. will never engage.

The IPC mod does make the message stop appearing.

    Thank you - that helps...
So I have to believe there is some other side affect of turning of the BMS - any idea what that is?
It must be there for more than just Start/stop of the engine at stop signs...

The Battery Management System (BMS) is there to monitor the condition of the battery and let you know when it's getting weak or failing. I've had mine disabled since August of 2019 and have had zero issues.

I did however recently purchase and install the Autostop Eliminator.

Like many others, I'm not big on the idea of turning off features of the truck, especially when it comes to its electrical system.

So I had second thoughts about disabling the BMS through ForScan and found the Autostop Eliminator option.

This was super simple to install on my 2019 (which is part number AE003 for the 2019+ F150's). Remove two screws in the trim, pull the trim back, unplug the switch, plug the eliminator in and put the trim back on and you're done.

This device remembers the last condition of the auto stop/start switch on the dash when you shut the truck off. If the auto stop/start switch is off when you shut the truck off, when you start the truck the next time, the device will set the switch to off.

If you're worried about disabling the BMS, this is another solution. Only down side is that the "OFF" LED on the switch is always illuminated if you're like me and always have this stupid feature turned off.

BMS began showing up in Fords in 2011 as a system to monitor the condition of the battery. The BMS detects when the battery is failing or getting weak. It also plays a role in keeping the battery from being over charged.

The BMS establishes a base line for the battery when the vehicle is off (BMS needs 8hrs of vehicle undisturbed off time to establish the base line of the battery. This is important if you ever have to replace the battery).

Once the BMS establishes the baseline of the battery, it can then detect when the battery is getting weak overtime. This is especially important for the A.S.S. feature because the starting of the vehicle is the BIGGEST draw on the battery. Couple that draw with accessories running while the engine is off and that's an even bigger load and wear on the battery when the starter engages.

Turn your truck on and off multiple times in a short period of time, the battery doesn't get enough time to fully recharge.

Cycle multiple heavy loads (Starting the engine) over and over and it wears on the battery. The BMS monitors and keeps a history of all of that.

The BMS monitors the health of the battery and will stop the A.S.S from engaging if the battery isn't fully charged or is getting weak.

The BMS does not determine voltage output of the alternator. The PCM does. PCM tells the voltage regulator (which is built into the alternator) what voltage to output and maintain.

If the PCM tells the voltage regulator to output 14volts that's what the alternator does. Turn off all of your accessories and you get 14volts. Turn on ALL the accessories including all of your added lights and you'll still get 14volts, but the current output of the alternator with a full load is increased to supply power for the additional load to keep the system at 14volts. It's Ohm's law.

    Hey Guys,

I have replaced the front door speakers with 2way focals and want to get the tweeters to work. They seem to be band passed.

    I have a 19 with the B&O system

Is there a setting that will send highs to the front doors?

I also have an aftermarket sub and amp running off the high level from the factory sub amp. It's fine, maybe a bit muddy, but doesn't need help
