I was driving my 2018 with 6000 miles. Was stopped and went to accelerate and heard a loud bang. Have not seen any fluid loss or anything. Then later I heard rattling like something was loose under truck. Checked and nothing. Had the transmission flashed a few months ago and new update. No issue until today. anyone have same loud bang and rattling under truck.

Probably an IWE that went bad. These things are failing pretty fast. Cheap check valves.
Confirm by switching to 4x4 to see if it goes away.

FYI Bravo3eco is not a Raptor owner so take advice from him with some skepticism.

I just had the exact same thing happen on my 17....It is indeed the IWE check valve...simple $20 piece you can order or take to Ford...search IWE Ford valve on YouTube and there are a few videos.....I ordered an extra valve and threw it under the seat when the other side does it....Good news its an easy fix...do it yourself or i had an appointment already in the books so Ford did it...

20191109_090442.jpg I own a '17 Raptor with 21k miles. This is definitely an IWE check-valve problem. I bought 2 new ones (one as backup) from dealership. $20/piece. This cleared the problem immediately. I noticed funny noise originally when I was pulling my 7k lb travel trailer. The noise sounded like ball bearings in a blender and only happens during deceleration without foot on pedal or break. Noise went away after I engaged 2 wheel drive into 4 wheel drive. The 4x4 transfer is regulated by a vacuum system to which this IWE check valve is most likely the weakest link. I brought my truck into dealership for piece-of-mind after I replaced part myself. Dealership couldn't find anything else wrong. Love my truck but still concerned about towing heavier things (7k-8k lbs) over longer distances with back-end sag. Any people have any advice on air bags, timbren SES, etc? Thanks!

I bought my 17 with 5k miles on it...the guy had installed the airlift wireless system airbags...I had never had airbags and was skeptical to say the least...I bought the truck from Florida and had it shipped to CA so i never did a walk thru with the guy....took me 3 months to figure out how to power the system on....I was so close to ripping it all out until I looked up and decided Hey maybe i should try the toggles@! Well what do you know......The airbags are amazing...I tow between 5-9000lbs with them and adjust accordingly....every other raptor we see at Desert races towing race cars is riding so dirty.....love the airlift and they are very reasonable as far as raptor goodies go....Next on my tow list is the Alcon front brake kit...

I appreciate your feedback on the power airbags and will look into a mechanic who is familiar with them. Good luck on the Alcon brake system! Wish there was more dessert sand to run on in south Georgia lol.

I also have a 2018, with about 20K miles and I too have experienced the loud bang, not when I accelerated from a stop, but when I was going about 70 MPH and punched it to accelerate. The loud bang was almost like some hit me in the back. I never heard any rattling or "ball bearings in a blender".
Just to make sure I understand, this loud bang I heard is from a bad IWE check-valve?

    Thanks guys.

Did you ever find out what it was? I have the same thing happening on my 2019, but only when punching it at highway speeds.

FYI, I did replace both valve and hose with no change.

Sounds like torque converter or transfer case issues.
