Does anyone know of anyone making something similar to the AMP Research Bedstep? I spoke with AMP Research and they're not currently making a bedstep for the Gen 2 Raptor because of the dual exhaust. Or anything similar out there? I need help getting into the bed of my truck sometimes.

Im guessing not, I made the mistake and now I would need a whole new tailgate.

Check out bed steps under Real Truck and Sharp Truck. It appears that the AMP step is still available, or choose another similar product. Maybe try a hitch step if nothing fits the Raptor.

No worries I do the same sometimes .moral of the story regarding the bed step is we all may not have ordered what we needed at the time on our trucks. Hell I wish I would have got the heated steering wheel on mine. Wife has it on her edge and it sure is nice on these cold winter days.

I use the Smittybuilt beavertail in my trailerhitch cause I didn't get the step with my 2018. I also stuck sandpaper on it to prevent skidding and reflective tape. It also makes a great deterrent for tailgaters. They get to decide if they want to peel their bumper off of it just so they can ride closer; Most don't

Not bad, but it wouldn't help me get in with the tailgate open.

Yes exactly, I didn't order the built in tailgate assist step and wish I did, especially since the new steps are flush with the tailgate when folded up. Regarding the AMP research bed step they said that it won't fit the new gen 2 raptors because of the twin exhaust. The trailer hitch step won't work with the tailgate down. It's really too bad that AMP Research stopped making the bed step for the Gen2 raptors.. maybe there's a way to modify it so it will work for gen 2's?

AMP Research makes a Bed Step 2 that mounts in front of the rear tire on the side of the truck. You would have to crawl over the side of the bed.

Try going to etrailer.com and look at item # HE3045. It can be extended out past the tailgate when dropped and swings out of the way when not in use. There are several extendable hitches like this. I don't know if it would hit the exhaust when swinging out of the way or if you would have to remove when offroading due to exit angles. They also have plain hitch extenders that can have a step attached , item # RP11004. I believe that extension comes out 18 - 19 inches. You could add a hitch step to the end of that extension which depending on size of step, would add that much more to the length and possibly extend beyond the lowered tailgate.

thanks. I was wondering if it was possible to mount the Bed Step2 behind the rear tire and not in front of the rear tire. Then I can mount it far enough back where I can step on the step with one foot and the lowered tailgate with the other.. I guess I'll just have to see where the bed step2 mounts to.

Can't find any info about a rear mounting location. I imagine drilling holes in your frame would be required. I know small ladders are made that can be attached to the tailgate, but they take up space when folded into the bed or against the tailgate. If all else fails, carry a 5 gallon bucket. Good Luck!
