Plastic everywhere. Transmission issues. Sound system sucks. Rattles galore (even with a highway queen). Sunroof issues...but yah, i bought a Raptor for off-road capabilities, I shouldn’t complain...seriously?

It’s not called a “theory”, sir. It has been my personal experience with the truck as well as reading through many blogs and internet searches. I’ve owned vehicles made by GMC, Toyota, BMW, Audi, and Jeep. They all had their issues, but in my opinion the quality of the OEM parts and the general assembly standards of the Raptor is not commensurate with the high cost.

I will agree there, just not everyone shares the troubles thankfully.

Hmm, the worst vehicle I ever owned, bought new, was a BMW 5 series. Talk about a lemon, but it is not my belief that they make shitty cars. Remember the Raptor is built off a truck capable of being a work truck. And the Raptor itself was built to be raced, jumped, and driven hard over crappy terrain. So if a rattle or 2 comes through I'm sure that wasn't their #1 concern.

I honestly do not understand how my personal experience with the Raptor counts as ignorance but fair enough.

Coincidentally, the Ford dealership fixed the sunroof issue and reset the transmission and all is well so far.

Hey Ram sorry to hear about your issues with the truck. Not sure what Ford replaced on your truck. My sunroof had multiple issues. It has now been replaced. I suggest exercising the sunroof a couple times a week until your warranty expires. If it’s going to fail again get it paid for by Ford not out of your pocket. Once the transmission is reset it will shift hard for a while. Ford’s explanation is the transmission is learning your driving style and will adjust accordingly. This is my second Raptor ( owned a Gen 1). Overall these trucks get high marks. However, each model of vehicle has engineering flaws. The identification of these flaws back to Ford will help with the upcoming newer models. I can tell you that the Gen 2 is a stronger truck than the Gen 1. Not sure we’ll see a Gen 3 as fossil fueled engines are being phased out long range. Let’s enjoy them for a
    S long as we can!!

    2017 sunroof won't open, supercab.
It lifts up for vent, it will close again.
But attempting to slide open, it drops the back about an inch and stalls. It does close again.
    Taking to the dealer tomorrow.
    Any non-dealer fix suggestions?
    Cheers

Yup, they fiddled with it for about an hour until they injected a $60 tube of special lube. No problems now ...

Hey guys, sorry for highjacking this thread but I tried starting a new conversation and it keeps giving me an error. Hopefully someone can give me some insight into what my issues might be. I have 8800 miles on my 2019 Raptor and so far have only taken it off road once. I’d say in the last 5 months, the noise has gotten worse. Just last night after washing it, I got in it to park it on the street. My street is slightly uneven and as I was traveling down the road at no more than 5-10mph, the suspension sounded like like rusty springs in an old bed or almost like the noise you have the brakes applied and you barely ease off and it makes that creaking noise. That’s the only way I can really describe it. On top of that I’m also experiencing that loud clank or bang when starting the truck after it has sat for 15-20 mins after driving it. Transmission also janky and drops gears and then engages. I also have a noisy sunroof, rattles and squeaks at the rear panel. Please help!
