I have a 2017 Gen2. Planning to replace factory subwoofer with an Alpine box with dedicated amp. Have to remove back seats. Appreciate any advice on electronic issues when disconnecting existing box and back seat removal.

    Thanks.

You will run into issues. Factory stereo is wired into the sony DSP amplifier. I ended up ditching all of SYNC, doing a pioneer double din in place of the stock screen, amp rack on back wall with 4 channel to doors and dedicated sub amp to 4 kicker 10s.

There is a module near the rear seat latch when you remove the seat, remove that and you disconnect auto updates etc. its got the factory cell phone modem/chip in it. once I got rid of it my truck became easier to modify in the way that suits me.
