ok, I'm not a kid anymore and it's not really close to Christmas. I have that kid at Christmas feeling for the first time in years because I pick up my first Raptor tomorrow! I've wanted one since they were first released, tomorrow marks the end of a very long wait!
Congrats, Believe me it's well worth the wait and the grin on your face won't go away for a while. Lot's of good info here on the Forum. Recommend first starting with getting yourself an OBD connector and make a few setting changes like shutting off the fake engine sound. There's a whole host of other features you can add or remove. Shutting down the engine noise audio makes the cab so much more luxury car quiet and improves the audio sound quality (you'll still likely do an upgrade) Find the biggest mud puddle and have fun on the way home from the dealer!!!!!!!
I absolutely love it! I love the power, the looks, and the looks I get from other drivers. I also scheduled my Raptor Assault course (October 18 - 19). My truck should be out of the break-in period by then and I'm going to find out what it's really made of
I guess I assumed I would drive my own truck for the assault course! Didn't realize I would be driving a "Raptor Assault" truck. That's kind of a bummer! Guess I can just fly to Utah then.
I'd rather beat there's than mine. And from what I hear you and another driver share the truck. But hey, it's free.
Congrats to you too! You're going to love it, what a beautiful beast these trucks are! Be sure to send pics of that bad boy.
Hey Spenc, I'm jumping in mid stream in this thread. Congrats on getting your new truck!!! I'm 10k already on mine and the stupid grin on my face has yet to wear off in six months. Yes, you use the Raptor Assault trucks and not yours. However, i'm still driving from Dallas up. There's some great off roading to be done between here and there. Santa Fe area has some fun trails, Durango to Grand Junction has some great west slope runs in the mountains. Need i remind you of Moab? Also depending on where your at in TX, coming back via Grand Canyon and the AZ desert will offer you some desert running. If all of that doesn't give you a fill of the off road life, I'm putting together a 2 week run in Baja through parts of the actual race course all the way down to Cabo and then back out a different route. Details to come in the following weeks once the course is fully planned and accommodations are factored in. Meanwhile, have fun!!!!
You just talked me into driving to Utah. Now I'm excited to plan my route so I can hit some of the places you mentioned. Your 2-week run down to Cabo sounds amazing, I'll keep my eyes open for more details.
