Any idea what the sound system is with the 802A package. I saw that the kicker sub is not an option with this package. Is that because it is included or is it not compatible with the "luxury package" stereo.
Kicker Sub is NOT included with the 802A Package as it is not compatible with the Sony sound system. This was an error in the original spreadsheet that I build and posted. Someone posted in another thread that the Sony system had its own sub, but I can't confirm that first hand. Respectfully,
I've done a little research and this audio set up is poorly rated! Expect to be doing an amp, speaker and sub upgrades once you get your truck!
Expand on that rapere, who says and why does it suck Hard to believe in this 2016 that any new premium vehicle doesn't have a decent sound , but I am not an audiophile Enlighten me and us
Yea, didn't spend 70,000 on a truck to go out and spend 2,000 more on audio upgrades, besides anything will sound better than my 2000 Yukon!
Picked up my new Raptor last night. No issues from me on the Sony sound system, but I'm 47 and don't look for loud over quality. It could certainly be better, but I think it's very good sounding from the get-go.
Just like the Gen 1 , you can wire in the Kicker sub, and still use the factory Sony system harness . I have done this on many of trucks . When you did the install the directions said to tap into the right rear door speaker . But then you would lose your fade options . When spliced into the factory sub plug you kept all of the settings and got more bass out of it . I can purchase them direct from Ford and sell them if we can get some interest in them . I will say it is a 100X better then the sony sub
Sorry for the delay, just noticed the question. I just did a simple search on the Ford F-150 700wt sound system and found more then i expected negative comments about it. Additionally, I've never been in a Ford vehicle that has had very good sound (push, range, clarity). That all being said, i don't have high hopes. However i could be proven wrong. The last Ford i was in was a 2016 F150 for a week in AZ. Sound was typical Ford sound as i've already noted in most of my experiences. The Raptor has a front and back Sub, and a round of door speakers. Now one would think that Ford would want to put in a world class sounding as well rocking audio system in it's Badass $70k truck. I just wouldn't bet on it. As a result, i've already identified a new Amp, replacement speakers and a set of Sub's. In all fairness, once i pick up my truck i'll have a week to go from Denver back to DFW to evaluate the stock audio system and make a decision to invest in upgrading or be impressed with what's installed and eat some roadkill crow....... Pass the BBQ sauce please!!!!!!
