hi all, new to the raptor. I notice that when I leave my foot off the pedal and coast I hear a gear whine sound. Is that normal on these? Only have 400 miles maybe it part of break in?

    Thanks

I'm >10k mi and have never heard any gear whine.

Double check underneath that you have no leaks and then take in.

Are you sure your not hearing the fake sound being pumped into the cab???????

No, it's a very low whine when I let off the pedal. If I lightly touch the pedal it goes away.

Haven't experienced that. I'm just over 1,000 miles.

So a little more info, it's really only noticeable between 40mph and 50mph. Doesn't matter which gear it's in....baffled

Mine made a similar noise before the differential went out. Had to get a brand new diff after 900 miles!!!

Quick update, dealer suspects pinion bearing. Requested advice from ford on replacing the bearing or whole unit.

Shiiittt! I think I have the same thing but mine sounds of at lesser mphs. I'm talking less than 10mph.

How much them pinion, bearings etc...cost? Great!

    Glad yours is doing well.
