So has anyone tried the Ford Perfomance Sport Exhaust? What is the dieffeerence between that and the Borla Sport Exhaust? I see where Ford Performance claims they have a slight variation from the solely Borla system but they don’t say what. Lastly, if anyone has it I would love to hear some real sound clips as opposed to the enhanced bs CJ puts up on their site.
Hey Beau. I went down this rabbit hole. When I was researching this topic I couldn’t find anyone who put Ford’s system on that heard any significant difference in tone. After way to much research I ended up putting the ATAK with a resonator. I’ll try and capture a start up clip for you and post it. As with almost all exhaust systems, your tone should deepen once you put a few miles on it. Hope this helps
Thanks. I heard the ATAK inside the dealership so the dealer couldn’t really get on it for me to hear. Do you find that it is very raspy or does the resonator cure that?
The ATAK was to aggressive for my tastes. A local custom shop here in Austin suggested the combination of the ATAK and the resonator. It’ll never sound like my 14 Raptor with a Roush Supercharger. But it really improved the deep note of the truck. The truck is presently in Lake Tahoe. Once I get back in it I’ll include a sound clip for you.
I have the sport FP with the carbon fiber tips (that look mint btw). I noticed a nice growl difference. Cold starts I can hear it inside in the other side of my house The atak was a bit over kill for me since there’s no way to get a true deep v8 sound i think this sport is perfect. Deep mellow tone but when you hit it, it comes to life.
Has anyone seen or heard the roush resonator delete? https://www.roushperformance.com/2017-f150-raptor-muffler-delete.html
Personally I do think they are worth 300 if that’s the difference they look mint! . I thought it was only 200. I got it from Cj pony parts for a couple hundred or so less than directly through FP. Go for it!
Yes - not a very pleasant sound. It is nothing like a Ford GT. It sounds like the compact car class at the demolition derby!
