On my way back home from a 2 hour road trip I recently had, I encountered a GEN2 regular F150 cutting up. He didn't ride up on my bumper aggressively but he passed aggressively. I let it go with a smile b/c I don't road race unless I feel it's safe to do so (and it wasn't safe at that location). He had upgraded tires/wheels but that was all I could see. He sped way ahead and I thought he was gone. About 4 more miles up the road, though, an 18 wheeler had slowed him down (it was a 2 lane highway with few passing zones in that stretch). Anyway, as soon as I caught up to him, I was happily surprised to see a long straightaway ahead - WITH A PASSING ZONE AND NO ONCOMING . . . game on. He immediately took advantage of the open and so did I. Fortunately for me, we had about 1 mile of clear road ahead because it took me about 3/4 mile to get in front of him far enough to move back in and call it a victory. At the next stop light, we exchanged a thumbs up for the excitement. Even though he was behind, his grin was as big as mine. It was fun. I wish it had been a Chevy, Dodge or something.

He clearly must have had a tune at the very least b/c I had a tune myself (MPT) but no other performance mods yet for me One thing I learned that day was that the regular F150 (probably with a tune) "ain't no whimp."

And you didn't hit the governor, or does your tune negate that? I know on back roads I hit the governor quite quickly.

I'm taking the 5th on that one. We were already going about 45 when we started the pass. On asphalt, I feel more comfortable starting at zero and seeing what I can do in the next 1,320 ft. Starting at 45 MPH gets a bit scary in about 10 seconds at WOT. I think it would be cool if there were some aftermarket suspension parts to lower the Raptor, add an air dam and maybe even a spoiler. Crazy, I know, not what the Raptor was designed to do. I guess that's why I want to do it. :)

Also your tires and weight slow you down. Its and offroad truck not a race truck but it is fast.
