I've had my 2017 Raptor for 5 months now. When I got it, it had a thin 3 to 4 inch scratch on the left side of the windshield, going up and down the windshield. The scratch is off to the side so it doesn't obstruct my vision and 99% of the time I don't even notice it. However, I mentioned this to the dealer at the time when I picked up the truck, mostly because I was concerned that it might cause a weak point in the windshield and it might crack because of that. At that time the dealer talked me out of replacing the windshield, stating you don't want to start replacing stuff on a brand new truck, that factory placed windshields have better seals and once replaced it won't be the same, however, he gave me a year to think about replacing the windshield.

I honestly don't know what to do. If he would still let me keep the old windshield obviously it would be a no brainer, however, I doubt he would let me keep the old windshield.

So I am here to ask you, fellow Raptor owners, what would you do? I have till April of next year to make the decision. Should I wait and see what happens this winter and if my windshield gets chipped or cracked then obviously take the dealer up on replacing it? At that time he might not want to pay for replacing it. Do I just replace it? or do I just leave it alone since 99% of the time I don't even notice it's there?

thanks in advance for your opinions.

I agree with gdog... you're obviously unhappy with it.. I would be too... but I'm an obsessive compulsive freak.. the way that I see it, the dealership is an extension of the factory. So if they replace it, then it should be just as good.. (haha, they prolly just gonna call safelite though ) but maybe not.. either way, I'd just go ahead and get that junk replaced..

I wouldn't put Safelite glass in my new truck fer nuttin'. You demand true OEM glass. period. And why the fuck are you waiting 5 months before even saying anything about it? Damn man, this shouldn't even be a discussion.

I have had mine replaced two times. Safelite did both replacements with OEM glass. No issues. Just be sure to have the dealer re-calibrate the lane sensing camera (if you have that option...)
