I thought about emailing xpel and seeing if they would or plan to create precut side film for the SCAB like they did for SCREW... seems a bit unfair to leave us folk out..
so just a few thoughts and ramblings.... MPG - 2500 miles so far and life time MPG is 16.4 - im basically in sport mode (when the roads are dry - 25% of time) or 75% of time in weather mode 4 ALL. Seems reasonable - I would have hoped for maybe more like 18 but no regrets. I am mostly using 93 octane - occasionally 89 and i never use 87... Stereo - i mentioned this before but worth repeating. Stereo seems to me to be pretty sensitive to what its being fed. junk in = junk out. now i am NOT saying better speakers and a couple high quality amps wont help but your source seems to make a pretty big difference. Phone/Bluetooth - sounds ok at low volumes but as soon as i get above maybe 14 or 15 on the dial it all just gets "mushy". IPOD - i have a couple old Ipods - 2 30gb and 2 160gb. Ones my wifes and has a lot of downloaded from itunes 128 kb music on it - sounds mostly terrible. I have my entire music collection on another ripped in itunes at 320kb VRB - sounds MUCH better particularly at higher volumes. Then I have a 30gb of lossless FLAC/ALAC and that sounds very very good - again for what the system is i cant complain. ALSO big surprise music on phone - like i said bluetooth is blah but once i plug the phone in (samsung S7 edge) and use android auto to play the same music its sounds much better as well. and Finally - turn OFF the speed sensitive volume - seems to create noise or feedback of some sort. FORScan - Just ordered my FORScan bluetooth module from amazon (79 bucks) and got my FORScan login/password. I will turning off double Honk and the Fake engine noise ASAP. Probably a few other things as well - engine and Transmission temp above gauges seems like a nice add on as well as Safe Idle (truck running but does not detect key fob you cannot put truck in gear).. Will update that shortly. BFG A/T K02 - been dumping snow here in Vermont - probably 16 to 18 inches in the last week. Truck in 4A and those tires are a killer combo. Also 11.5 inch of clearance doesn't hurt! been plowing thru 20 inch snow drifts and having a blast. enjoy gents - be safe out there..
only difference b/t SCAB and SCREW is the 1 door on either side and any good installer can cut it by hand.. I did my rocker panels on my Scab on both doors - came out great ..
Nice! I'm 95% that I'm gonna drop the coin to get the whole truck wrapped! I say 10 years worth of peace of mind and no swirl marks on a black truck is completely worth it. Especially with my 800 mile round trip commute to work every month.
I am a big fan of the Xpel and wraps in general (have had 4 cars wrapped) but remember the real advantage is rock chips (i think). Which is why i wrapped my hood, area around lights, lights, front quarters, back of mirrors and rocker panels. For the best all around protection I almost think wrap the front like me then get a ceramic/quartz paint sealant on the rest! just a thought. let me know what u decide!!
My detailer is actually putting cquartz over the suntek wrap and plastic molding on entire exterior , wheels too. Not just exposed paint Scheduled for next week, can't wait
should look awesome! I use XPELs paint sealant on the areas covered with film- i apply maybe 6 times a year and I use KLASSE sealant and Glaze on the rest of the truck.. Often thought about cquartz on the film but never did it.
FRONT MUD FLAPS - Gatorback Black Ford Oval -Realtruck.com I know its not perfect but i needed something to cut down on the spray, dirt, rocks, salt and mud getting splattered on the door and door handle - 6 to 10 miles a day on dirt roads i was starting to loose my mind!! If something better comes along with a more "custom" fit ill be happy to swap them out..
hahahaaaaa - im not that bad.. i put the boxes down because I needed to turn the steering wheel / wheels back and forth to have room to get the bolts in. If i dont put the cardboard down the wheels bunch up the park mats and then they won't sit flat...
Husky is coming up with a range of products, I posted it somewhere on this forum! They said March '17!
Hey VT Raptor , just wanna say your rig looks great . I ordered the same truck last july ( AG scab , 802A , moonroof , hood graphics , tailgate applique , heated wheel , Cf and beadlocks ( both cancelled ) , tailgate step , bedliner and tonneau cover and I just got my window sticker and it was built yesterday .
