Hey guys, while setting aside my jealousy for everyone that has already received a VIN/Build date (I'm a priority 12)...I had a couple questions that I was wondering if anyone might have some intel on: First, for reference, if you haven't seen it, Ford finally has the Configurator working for the Raptor. I ordered my truck in lightning blue and was told by the dealer that the Interior Trim Package (the orange on the seat), wasn't an option if you went with the lighting blue. However, the configurator let's you add it as an option. Did anyone else have success adding this option to a lightning blue? 2. The configurator has the "Magnetic Gray" option, which was originally listed as a 'late' color. Did anyone order this color...and if you did, do you have a build date? I'm considering switching but not if it means getting the truck in 2018... 3. Has anyone that started with a priority code higher than 10 received a build date yet? Answer to question #2. I have magnetic color and a build date of October 19th. Haven't checked with my dealer for a few weeks tho.
Answer to question #1. I ordered Lightning Blue as well. When I ordered in early September the orange accent wasn't available for LB but Ford updated the order guide on September 15 to make it able to be ordered for the LB. http://www.fleet.ford.com/edms/order-guides/?geography=NATL&brand=Ford&model=F-150
And for question 3, a dealer cannot supply an order priority higher than 10. Anything under 10 is reserved for special circumstances and can only be applied by Ford corporate.
I was torn between avalanche and LB but went with avalanche due to the orange accent package. However the avalanche sure looks sharp on the build page so I'm happy.
Thanks guys! I've decided to switch to Magnetic. Like that dark gray. On the priority question, I'm still wondering if anyone who started at a number other than 10 (or 01) has received a build date. Trying to decide if I should give my dealer a hard time. He is selling me the truck at MSRP ($0 markup), and I know that there was one guy that got to him before me, but I'm not sure why that would make me a 12. He also showed me a letter from Ford saying that in all of 2017 he was only going to get 1 Raptor...and like I said he already had an order in before mine. I'm trying to decide if I should stick it out or try and find another dealer (or at least ask why I'm a 12 and not an 11 or something...). Thoughts?
If he only has one allocation and somebody is before you you MAY get the truck but it will be late spring or summer. Find another dealer
You mean black with grey bolsters or the black with orange bolsters? I don't like the orange but the black and grey will look great with my Avalanche truck and carbon fiber
Thanks harrisb. Is that a guess in terms of timing or something you've seen from past experience? Problem with another dealer is even if I find someone who has honestly not sold through his allocation, a lot of the bigger guys seems to be charging over the MSRP here in the NY area. I'd rather wait a bit longer then pay a couple grand for the privilege...
