2017 Raptor with 30,000 miles lost power while driving. I'm told it's a Powertrain malfunction. It's been in the shop for over a week, now told they have to drop the transmission. Anyone else have this experience? Not sure what to expect. Thx

I had a power loss with many alarms early on. The repair was a 6 week adventure. End result was simply a harness to the computer not seated in the retainer rubbed till it broke wires. Easy check before dropping trans.

What type of power loss? Complete shut off? Engine missing? What codes did the truck throw?

Not sure if that was directed at me, but can't recall all codes. It was over a year ago. Remember at least 6 repeatedly. The vehicle sputtered a little like it was low on fuel, then stuck in 4th gear. I could manual shift but only to like 4th and 6th. The engine did not stop. It cleared when I pulled over but ended up repeating this the next morning on way to shop.

No codes appeared. It was power loss, engine remained running. I was able to drive it at a low speed. When I accelerated the power was not there and it would start to make a grinding noise.

My truck went into the shop on November 1st. It's now Dec 5th and there's no ETA on receiving parts. Starting the buyback process.

This buyback process is getting all too common on these.

Adam, 2017 owner here, and I am finding the buyback / lemon process to be more common than we think. Other sites, more and more are being bought back. Something fishy going on with the 2017's. Im going to beat the shit out of mine so I get my moneys worth before they buy it back...lol.. On a serious note, I had my tranny cover replaced at 5k for leaking. Now at 9k, its throwing wrench lights and not shifting. Maybe its the beginning to my nightmare, Ill keep you all posted

My transmission in sports mode is shifting way too hard and blows out trans fluid on shifts. They gave it a software update but it's worse. I am on attempt 4 to get it fixed.

No codes, but it blew out to much the other day and overheated the transmission. That one gave a code.

When shifting manually in sport, it will continue to rev another 500 rpm prior to shift, then momentarily feels like it drops all power before a hard engage and then shifting up.

Normal mode is much easier on the transmission with only an occasional hard shift.

That sucks my man. I dont disagree but like I said on the forums, the production numbers for 17 and major failures/buy backs are a small small percentage. I have 31k and yet to have an issue. Not that I am not lucky or work for Ford but been blessed and hope to stay that way. All I can say is get it fixed by Ford and if not, get legal and get a replacement if the issues are not resolved.
