Good Afternoon, Went to Test Drive a Left over 2018, is this normal for the cameras to be so different? I come from MB and BMW and Even GM trucks have the 360 camera aligned with color balances? Did I do something wrong or way to calibrate? Maybe this is fixed in the 2019? I would like to know if others feel the same way, I know it's trivial to some, but before I spend close to 70k was wondering if I should wait for next years suspension and tech updates?
Looks like there might be a color imbalance there but I think it what its supposed to be like. They are 4 different cameras, showing at different angles so it could distort the colors.
Just checked on mine, and its the same. Never really noticed it to much and still not a big issue for me.
was told today by my local dealership that the 2019 F250 has the fix, so I guess we wait to see if the 2019 F150 Raptor get's the fix, the tech said it was calibration of the cameras since the Raptor sits higher off the ground then the standard trucks, the mirrors are higher in the air then the standard truck so it's causing the issue. he said the part number is the same as the normal F150 trucks, it's all software according to the local FORD tech I spoke to.
Bad News Forum, 2019 still has the same camera issue that 2018's have, when will Ford fix this, seems like a simple while balance issue they could easily fix! The normal F150 platinum does not have the issue and neither does the 2019 F250 which sits similar height to the F150 Raptor. No issue, people are too ocd and need everything perfect. Just look at your mirrors follow with your experience, dont trust any camera.
The funny thing is, I also own a 2006 Sliverado Duramax. I have gotten used to the backup cameras on my Raptor and keep having to go old school and look in my mirrors when I'm in the chevy. The one thing I would live for the side cameras, is when I turn on my blinkers, the screen would show the camera on which blinker I turned on, left or right.
More truck owners need cameras to help them stay in their parking spaces. I get so annoyed with people pulling too far forward taking away the parking space in front of them. But yes, cameras become a crutch. GPS' have done the same thing to me.
