Good Morning! Quick new owner question ..... while using Sport Mode and accelerating ..... I get a hard shift occasionally depending how hard I am pushing. Is this normal in this mode?

    Thanks so much in advance!

Yes, the shifts seem abrupt, especially if you goose it!

Yes those shifts are normal, especially when the trans hasn’t reached normal operating temp.

I notice a difference though... Normal sport mode should be aggressive and even spin tires, but sometimes (happened twice) the transmission seems to go stupid and aggressive turns to did the back of my truck just fall off. I read in another forum on a fix and tried it that you unplug the battery on the truck and let it sit. Said 20 minutes, but dont think it takes that. Put the terminal back then try it. It fixed mine, no question.

No, straight up hit the gas, no stutter (cause I know 10 speed can get confused) and it slammed into gear. My 18 yr old noticed it first of course and had to show me, and WOW. Researched and did the battery, thedn repeated the gas and it was aweome aggressive again. Hard to explain unless you hear and feel it.

Does your RPM’s stay up when you take your foot off the accelerator sometimes ..... I found that sometimes it does not downshift right away too???? Thanks!!

I have also noticed that shifting seems more harsh depending on which grade of fuel I use. With regular gas shifting with aggressive excelleration is prounced but better with premium fuel.

I haven't noticed an issue going down in gears (delays), but I do know the 10 speeds don' like indecisive throttling due to the short ranges in gears. This will cause the truck to seem to pause while it figures out where the driver is trying to go.

Interestingly, I was concerned with hunting when considering the 10 speed, but could not find a raptor to drive, so I drove a king ranch. The gearing did not seem as temperamental to me.
