I’ve made mention of this before in different threads that I’m working on a Raptor trip running part of the Baja course but more so Ensenada, down through Cabo, LaPaz and back out to Ensenada. The intent of doing it as much off road as possible, putting the trucks to their full capability and getting to the places the tourist can’t get to. Isn’t this what we got the truck for!?!?!?!? This trip is to go have fun, use our trucks for what they were built for, go places Joe average can’t get to, have more fun, see and do things you wouldn’t normally get to. This isn’t a race but it will keep a good pace and there will be plenty of time to take in destinations along the way. After working through a few different expeditioners I’ve found one that has it together. Here’s how it looks to becoming together: · Meet up in San Diego with the expeditioner and be escorted down to Ensenada · 8 days of running mostly off-road down and back up the Baja Peninsula · We’ll be running on the shores of both the Pacific a Gulf of California · We’ll have a night of fun in Cabo · We’ll hit LaPaz · If timing works out some time with the Whales · This will be well over 1000 MI · There will be a chase crew to support any unplanned breakdowns What’s included: · Hotel (based on double occupancy) · 3 Meals a day · Trail side snacks and drinks · The trip is 100% guided · Chase crew for support What’s it going to cost? · $3,700 pp (I’m still working to lock this in but it’s a good estimate at this point.) My limitations: · Raptor Gen 2 trucks only · Adults only (21y/o+) · 10 trucks or 20 people max (no more than 2 per truck) What are you responsible for?: · Getting yourself to/back from San Diego · Fuel · Repair costs to your own truck · Mexico Insurance (we’ll get a group rate most likely) · If due to the time it will take you decide to ship your truck · YOUR OWN BAR TAB (and any drink penalties you incurred during the trip) Dates: · I’m looking at the first week or so of October 2018 o This should give people plenty of time to plan What’s not locked down on this trip? · Exact dates · Where we’re stopping each night · Length of trip o This is all based on your all interest in doing this. o Right now it’s 9 nights and 10 day of off road fun. § This could be shortened by more highway driving and heading straight back from the Cabo/LaPaz area but I’m thinking this is a once in a lifetime trip, why rush it. If you’re interested, please respond to me directly and we can chat further. Thanks
Sounds great but I could do like 5 days,no way I can get away for 10 days I am a go if this gets truncated
Im interested, not sure about the 10 days as I am taking 10 days to join Raptor Assault in March but I would like to be updated for sure sir.
A lot of people looking but not seeing a lot of response here. What's missing or what would you change??????
Whos the expeditioner? I could possibly do a week but would need a day on the front end to get to San Diego and a day on the back end to get home.
I'm working with the owner at: http://gobajariding.com/ They do this already but provide dirt bikes or a UTV. Us bringing our own trucks takes care of that. What i need is someone that knows the trail system across Baja as well the Baja 1000 course, someone that knows lodging and can provide support too. Normally they do a one way down run and people leave out from Cabo. We'd need a way back and i wanted to make sure we got back out as a group so hence it's extending their current trip they do and at that point they're willing to put this together however we want to set it up as it's going to be a private trip. I had talked to Bruce about the course and time options. Yes we could cut this shorter, factoring we'd all need time getting there and back home. However cutting the actual Baja run means where not going to get much time taking in things along the route and we'd have to haul ass straight back on the highway from Cabo. So cutting it shorter can be done but then we're shorting ourselves from the experience. Ya, it's almost two weeks depending on where your coming from but i look at it this way, it's a once in a life time thing.....
Here's a video clip of the experience: http://gobajariding.com/information Obviously we won't be on the single track bike trails but you get the idea of what we'd be in for on this trip. Looking for 6 trucks minimum to put this together and go......
Example of 7day trip. Except we'll be taking our own trucks and we'll need two days to get back from the Cabo/LaPaz area.
