    hi Everyone,
Just to let you all know, CJ Pony now carries the oil separator units for our Raptors, just got mine today. They have a great video showing the install, however where it's mounted is difficult to see. The instructions that came with it has a better view and that seems to be the hardest part of the whole thing. It's going to be a week or so before I install mine, but I'll give an update when I do.

These are a real pain, always need to empty, always forgetting to empty....but they do their job!

I understood these weren't necessary on 2017 eccoboost V6s with dual direct and port injection.

That's good news, my trade in was a 2014 EB lariat. It really needed it.

    What purpose?
1 - Are we fixing a problem with the 2017 Raptors?
2 - Avoiding a perceived problem with the 2017 Raptors?
3 - Fixing something that just isn't broken on the 2017 Raptors?

I'm still trying to figure out if my Twin-Turbo Intake Vortex generator is compatible with my Quad-Electrode Hydrogen Boost generator!
    ;)

Has anyone used the oil separation.

I have the one from UPR and it works great, easy to install but does require some drilling and a odd sized drill bit 51/64 available from amazon for about $40, there is only one hole you have to make and it is compatible with any aftermarket intake. I have used this separator in my past turbo vehicle builds and have been very satisfied. It is more $$ than some other units out there but it is worth the spend and has very high quality hoses included. high quality overall. oil separators are used to remove the oil vapor that gets recycled through the intake leading to oil and carbon deposits on the back side of the valves as well as coating the intercooler, causing a restriction in air flow over time and is costly and time consuming to have removed or cleaned. It is more of a prevention method more than anything. just make sure you empty it at the oil change interval!

My UPR should be here this week. How hard is it to change the oil on the catch can. Hard to tell if it's easily accessible from the videos and installations instructions. I'd like to do more often than every oil change. Thanks.
