I am lòoking at purchasing a Ford Raptor and found one 2017 and two 2018 at MSRP... My questions is regarding the 2017... they have it listed for $68575 MSRP and I'm attaching the sticker price... Do you guys think the dealership will go for a lower amount than the MSRP? If so how much lower do you guys think I should offer. They been sitting on their lot for a while... thanks for the inputs....
you never know until you try. Seems at this date that a small discount for 2017 shouldn't be outta the question. let us know ..
If they have 18 Raptors on the lot, use that as a negotiating tool. Conversation N might sound like this. Why would I pay sticker on a year old truck when I can buy an 18 for the same money
You won’t insult anyone, keep in mind you have the money and they want it. Start lower than you really want to spend but not something that’s ridiculous, you can go back and forth as many times as you want cause they are paid to be there and would rather be negotiating than standing in the lot waiting for their turn when someone else to pull into the lot. Make sure you have your day clear and devoted to dealing. Acting like you’ve got all day and in no rush at all plays huge to your favor, the you’ll get up and leave if you don’t meet my price doesn’t work as well as it used and wearing them down has always worked better for me. I love negotiating and treat it like it’s a game but I’m always serious about my offers and ready to back em up. They have something you want and you’ve got something they want, you know what your gonna get (truck) they don’t know what they are gonna get Yet but their gonna try and get as much as possible. Wow this was way longer response than intended. Have fun with it and make sure it’s the truck you really want and that it’s theirs to sell and not at a different dealership they can get for you
Outstanding insight with buying a car. Thanks alot for your input and wisdom. I will apply and see how it goes. Thanks again. Hernan
The one thing that Logan didn't address is that dealers think they have something they don't have to negotiate on because there is a lot more demand than supply. I agree with everything else he said though, at this point of the production run, the market is damn near saturated and the dealer should be willing to negotiate to lighten up their floor plan. Then again, I could be delusional...
