    Good day guys,

Need advise on pre-owned '17 lightning blue SuperCab Raptor, the specs are:

    Body: SuperCab
    Mileage: ~9K
    Equipment Group: 802A plus
    Power Moonroof
    Exterior Graphics Package
    Tailgate Applique
    Tailgate Step
    Raptor Technology
    Spray Bedliner
    Bed Cover (Soft Leather)

Checked the VIN and no issued with accident, theft, etc but has the following recalls (from NHTSA):

    NHTSA Recall Number17V053
    Recall StatusRecall Incomplete
SummaryON YOUR VEHICLE, IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE START UP AT COLD AMBIENT TEMPERATURES, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR LOCATED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER MAY NOT ILLUMINATE AND DISPLAY THE SELECTED TRANSMISSION GEAR POSITION. IN ADDITION THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER MAY BE INOPERATIVE.

    NHTSA Recall Number17V652
    Recall StatusRecall Incomplete
SummaryA FROZEN DOOR LATCH OR A BENT OR KINKED ACTUATION CABLE MAY RESULT IN A DOOR THAT WILL NOT OPEN OR WILL NOT CLOSE CONDITION. SHOULD A CUSTOMER BE ABLE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR WITH THESE CONDITIONS, THE DOOR MAY APPEAR CLOSED, BUT THE LATCH MAY NOT FULLY ENGAGE THE DOOR STRIKER AND THERE IS A POTENTIAL THE DOOR COULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING.

Did the test drive with wifey and we like it very much. She said she will take it and i will use her Infiniti :D :D :D.

The asking price by the dealer is 59.9K. I need help with the following:

    1. Is the price ok for the specs and mileage? Shall i negotiate more? Where shall i check (website) if there is for price comparison?
    2. What shall be the considerations with supercab body configuration. Is it difficult if you have passengers on the 2nd row? We have kids but i think i will not allow them always to ride with me/us on the raptor because they always make our other cars dirty... :D :D
    3. The recall seems minor to me. Do you think these will create major issues in the future?
    4. I checked the raptor's body, engine, wheels, interior and they seem to look fine. I checked if there are oil leaked and found none. What else I need to check?

Hope you can help me before i pull the trigger :)

    Thanks,
    Edmar

Price seems high on this. I was honestly thinking $52k was the fair number. Scabs have a much smaller group of buyers - thus, the lower value due to this low demand.
Be careful with the ecoboost and research it in f150 from2011-present. Power is addicting, but frequent maintenance and reliability issues have been more than normal. 2017+ ecoboost has acceleration stutter, oil pan leaks, trans leaks, trans problems, engine cam phasers rattles, wastegate rattles. If you have to have it, make sure you are ALWAYS under full drivetrain warranty.

Price sounds way high. I have the Crew Cab, same color, spray-in BL. I added heated steering wheel. No graphics and no bed cover. No moon roof. I have the 802A. MSRP was 63,135. I paid $61K.

You can look up the original Window sticker with the VIN and see the MSRP. over a year old and 9k miles, for maybe a few grand off seems like a ripoff. The whole argument of buying new vs used is that with a new car "driving off the lot the value drops $10k". Looks like this dealer added the $10k back on for their benefit.

All of the responses are very helpful. I have owned 3 Raptors and have had great success with each model year The best advice you received to date was to make sure you keep your truck under warranty. I would caution you in as far as modifications to the truck. Ford will use almost any excuse to void warranty. If you keep the truck close to OEM, then Ford does a great job of standing behind there Raptors.

Well said, lights and bar, bak flip and perch collars are the only mods I am doing. Unless ford comes with their ghost tune for the Raptor which I have heard for some time now.

Now you’re talking. Love your list. Mods here are wheels, tires, leveler kit, exhaust, cover and front bumper fogs. Enjoy the ride! These trucks rock!!
