For a month or so I was getting oil spots in my garage under the raptor. It still had plenty of oil so not a huge concern. It was time for a change so I had the dealer look into it. They are telling me the oil pan is leaking caused by a bad seal. Problem is the oil pan is plastic and to break the seal it usually breaks the pan. So a new pan is on order and then they will hopefully fix the leak.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Get a real oil pan from Ford and tell them to trash the plastic pan asap. This is an issue I have hear of. Ive been very lucky not to have a leak.

Faulty seal I guess. The plastic pan isn't the issue with mine. Honestly it hasn't affected anything other than causing me to clean the floor in the garage every couple of days.

is it a rail seal, or a front seal?

Don't know the difference, and they didn't specify other than a seal.

just curious because there has been cases of both. I would be interested to see what the repair order says.

Sorry to dredge up an older thread, but....

I started noticing oil spots on my garage floor as well. Right at about 7000 miles.

Long story short, they are replacing the oil pan/seal on mine today. They have told me that it will take two days to complete it. Hopefully that will take care of it!

Hey Brent, that is what they did to mine and it is not leaking anymore. But they did not put the rubber seals around the tow hooks in the skid plate correctly. So I'd watch for that.

    Best of luck.

Thanks Vikes! Will do. They are going to do the seat belt recall at the same time. How long did your replacement take? I have a hard time believing it will be two full days, but I want them to do it right!

They to asked for 2 days and took it. To make things worse I picked it up on a Friday at closing time. After 10 miles of driving it started to make a loud banging noise from the front end at slow speeds while turning. I live 55 miles away so I took it to the sales manager and made him give me a loaner for the weekend. Finally the next Tuesday I got it back being told the tech forgot to "fully" tighten a bolt to a rod that holds the skid plate. Don't really buy the "fully" causing the noise. But so far no new issues.

Glad to hear that all is ok with yours. I got mine back last night. So far (15 miles of driving) no issues. The cardboard that I put under it last night was clean. I will check the tow hooks this afternoon when I have some more light...
