Wastegate is a valve in the turbo that regulates the pressure at which exhaust gases pass to the turbine by opening or closing a vent to the exterior. I’m w u man, rattles make me mental especially when they’re charging these prices for new vehicles. Good luck
Check the weather stripping on the door it loosens up sounds like it’s coming from the dashboard but it’s not
Yep. Bought my 09 with 13k miles. Never left the ranch. First production year was 10. Raptor production dates kept changing for the first production truck. Much like the 17 Raptor date kept changing. I see the Ranger has now entered the fray. Possible production date 18/19. Rumors of a diesel in 19. Much like the rumors of the Raptor getting a 7.0 V8. I never believe these dates until the truck finally shows up on showrooms!!
Even if you got it in 09, it still had to be a 10 model year. When you went to sell it, book value was from the model year not the year you bought it. Either that or I've been an idiot for 45 years.
Oh boy, could I have fun with that, but alas Vikes I'm gonna let it go. Actually, you're 100% right as usual, I ordered mine in September 09 and took delivery December 14th. I'm pretty sure it was a '10....
I had this problem with my 2008 f-150. Turns out it was the water bottle I had in the drivers side door.
Ha! I had a rattle today found out it was a 9mil round in my armrest. Serious note; when I turn the steering to 9 degree going flat, up or down at about 3-5 miles (basically just in drive) I hear a grind center of the truck, front-engine area. Someone mention transmission somewhere and I Can't find that thread. The great thing is my gears respond way faster now which kinda scares the beHesus out of me. Anyone have or know what it is? I am at 20k and I'm going in this weekend to change the trans fluid. Before I ask some newbie mechanic maybe you mechanical gurus can throw a bone in. It's not loud enough for anyone to hear, but I know it's there. GDog and VT, don't mess with me saying I have to change the whole engine
